Engineering Teachers
The educators of BETA's Technology & Engineering Program are dedicated to their profession and to their students. Each teacher brings a variety of experiences and skills to the department in order to help students be able to explore their interests and pursue their passions.
Web Technologies, Web Design, Computer Maintenance
Vickie Rogè is from Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, and currently resides in Edinburg, Texas. She has been teaching for a total of 16 years, 10 of those years being at BETA. She received her Bachelor's in Business Education from Northeastern State University and her Master of Business Admistration Degree from the University of Texas Pan-American. She currently teaches Computer Maintenance, Web Design, and Web Technologies. Outside of school, she loves playing with new technology gadgets, reading, and spending time with her family.

Pre-AP, AP, and IB Computer Science, Computer Science III
Alejandro "Alex" Garcia is from McAllen, TX. He has been an educator for 10 years, all of them spent at BETA. He has his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas Pan-American, and currently teaches all of the Computer Science courses BETA offers (Pre-AP, AP, IB, and III). Outside of class, he enjoys reading, running, and watching Netflix. Mr. Garcia is also a BETA TSA Advisor and Texas TSA's State Conference Director.

Principles of IT, Research in IT Solutions/Practicum
Monica Longoria has been an educator for 2 years, both of those years being at BETA. She has her Bachelor's Degree from South Texas College, and currently teaches the Principles of IT and Research in Learning/Practicum classes at BETA. Outside of class, she enjoys watching her favorite shows on Netflix and spending time with her family. Mrs. Longoria is also one of BETA TSA's advisors along with Mr. Garcia.

Intro to Engineering Design, Civil Engineering, Principles of IT
Mario Cavazos is beginning his career as an educator this year at BETA. He has his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas Pan-American. Currently, his schedule includes Introduction to Engineering Design, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Principles of IT. When he is not in the classroom, he can be found listening to his favorite music, doing puzzles, and spending quality time with his family.

Principles of IT, Animation, DIMEDIA
Juan "John" Alvarado has been an educator for 9 years, though this is his first year as a technology teacher at BETA, and he currently teaches a variety of classes ranging from Animation to Digital Interactive Media (DIMEDIA). He's originally from Edinburg and received a Bachelor's in Finance from the University of Texas Pan-American before earning his Master's in Education from West Texas A&M University. Outside of work, he enjoys watching Netflix, BBQ-ing, and above all, spending time with his family.

Principles of IT, DIMEDIA, Animation
Janelle Tite has been an educator for 26 years and a Technology educator at BETA for 2 years. She currently teaches Principles of IT, DIMEDIA, and Animation, and administers the certification exams offered in all of these classes. She is from McAllen, TX, but she received her degrees from Texas State University and the University of Texas at Austin. When she is not teaching, she enjoys photography, watching her daughter play competitive volleyball, playing with her grandchildren, and taking fun trips with her family.
